The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is a public university located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It was established in 1969 through the merger of two historic institutions, Prince of Wales College (est. 1834) and Saint Dunstan’s University (est. 1855). UPEI serves as the only university in Prince Edward Island and has grown into a well-regarded institution for education and research.

🎓 Academic (Educational) Requirements
To be considered for an undergraduate degree (e.g., BA, BSc, BBA, Engineering, Nursing, etc.) as an international student, you generally need:
Completed secondary education (high school) equivalent to a Canadian 1. Grade 12 credentials such as:

2. Senior Secondary Certificate
Other recognized matriculation qualification from your country (If you are still completing high school, you can apply before results and submit anticipated grades.)
2. English Language Proficiency
- IELTS (Academic) and TOEFL iBT—the most common measures (Exact score requirements are set by UPEI; typically around IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL iBT 80 for direct admission, though some flexibility exists via English support programs.

4. Tuition Deposit for Admission Letters
Starting with Fall 2024 admissions: UPEI requires a CAD $3,000 deposit from international students before issuing an official letter of admission that you can use for a Canadian study permit (visa) application.
This deposit confirms your intent to attend and triggers the issuance of a full letter required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
